Washington Mind

 Washington Mind develops and delivers a range of quality mental health services for people residing in the City of Sunderland, aged 16 or over who are at risk of developing mental ill health, or are experiencing emotional distress.

Washington Mind is a dynamic organisation with a small team of professionals, bringing together a diverse range of skills and expertise.  The team includes qualified and student counsellors, psychology graduates, independent mental health advocates, support workers and group facilitators, all working within the process of recovery. Student placements are provided for Psychotherapy, Alternative therapy, Health & Social care and Social Work students. Having the right skill base is essential in ensuring the service continues to provide high quality services to the community it serves.

Washington Mind also develops and delivers training programmes including Mental Health Awareness, Promoting Emotional Resilience, Mental Health First Aid and Young Peoples Mental Health First Aid
